OIGROIG (1965-1978)

The title of the painting cycle anagrams the artist’s first name (Giorgio); these are the first works to emphasise symmetrical qualities, to verify the assumption that in chaos there is order and vice versa. The circumstance from which these works arise is a bet with Mirko who, having expressed his perplexity at the excess of randomness in Nuvolo’s paintings, challenges him to achieve controlled results, from an aesthetic point of view.
